Help Needed!

PNWherding Club is looking for timers, runners and scribes for our July trial. If you are new to the club and interested in learning more about herding, volunteering at a trial is a great way to do so.

Timers and scribes are assigned to a judge and as such you get to hear everything the judge says about each run. Some judges will even give you explanations of what they are seeing, but I can't promise that. Timing requires no prior experience - the judge or the scribe will tell you when to start and stop the clock. For scribing it helps to have some knowledge of the elements of the courses and scribe shorthand, but that is really not required. Runners do just that - they run or walk the score sheets between the judges and the trial secretary. With this job you get lots of exercise, you may not hear all the inside scoop from the judge, but you do catch snippets when you pick up the score sheets and you are not stuck out on the course for the whole day.

The trial is Friday, July 15 - Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Brigand's HideOut in Battle Ground WA. For entrants the closing date is May 13, 2011.
