We are always a little reticent to promote PNWHC's Holiday Greenery Fundraiser before Halloween, but the truth is Lynch Creek Farm has some amazing Fall and Thanksgiving arrangements as well as Winter and Christmas wreaths, garlands, and Tabletop Trees.

Congratulations are in order for Friday’s High In Trial “Leica” and Carol Wolfram from Advanced C Course Sheep! Team Leica also picked up 3 championship points!  Kudos to today's Reserve High In Trial, “Ivy” and Deb Thomas from Started A Sheep.

 

Congratulations are in order for Saturday’s High In Trial “Prim”, owner Charlotte Dietsch and handler Barbara Davenport.  Running in Advanced A Sheep, Team "Prim" also picked up a 3 point major finishing Prim's Herding Championship - woohoo!  Kudos are also due to today's Reserve High In Trial, “Mordu” and Barbara Davenport from Advanced C Sheep.  Team Mordu picked up two championship points!

Congratulations are in order for Sunday’s High In Trial “Leica” and owner/handler Carol Wolfram!  Running in Advanced C Sheep, Team "Leica" also picked up a 3 point major toward a Herding Championship!  Kudos are also due to today's Reserve High In Trial, “Bonus” and owner/handler Lisa Klein from Advanced A Sheep.  Last but not least, the High Combined for the weekend was awarded to Team Leica - woohoo!!!

Huge thanks to all our judges and volunteers for making everything run smoothly!  I want to personally thank Teresa Brown for serving as my Assistant Secretary, allowing me to stock handle and run a dog. Last but not least, thanks are due to Barbara Davenport and Steve Weigley for maintaining such a great facility for us all.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED APRIL 14 - 16

Here's great opportunity to learn about herding!

Volunteers are needed to:

• time the runs with a stopwatch

• walk the score sheets to the secretary

• scribe for the judges (record comments & scores)

• drive the golf cart for C course sheep runs,

• seed grazes prior to each C course run, &

• wrangle ducks (prep & set ducks for each run).

  No prior experience needed!
  Volunteers will receive lunch and a gift card on the days on which they work.

PACIFIC NW HERDING CLUB APRIL AKC TRIAL OPENS FRIDAY FEBRUARY 24

It is time to enter the PNWHC Herding Trial. Three days of AKC Herding Tests and Trials at PackLeader Farm in Gig Harbor WA, April 14-16, 2023. A and B Courses on Sheep and Ducks. C course, Herding Test and Pre-trial Test on Sheep. Connie Gohl will judge all Tests and Trial Courses on Friday. Laura DeLaCruz will judge all Tests and Trial Courses on Saturday & Sunday. C-Course runs are limited to 6-8, depending on level, Test runs are limited to 18, all other courses/stock are limited to 40. Entries close Friday, March 31, 2023. April 14 - 16, 2023 AKC Trial Information

PNWHC's April 14-16,2023 AKC Trial at PackLeader Farm is right around the corner. We will be offering A course sheep and ducks, B course sheep and ducks, C course sheep, HT and PT. Entries open 2/24/23 and will close 3/31/23. Our judges are Connie Gohl and Laura DeLaCruz. The premium list will be posted here when available and distributed to our mailing list. If you would like to be on our mailing list contact the Trial Secretary at PNWHCentries@gmail.com

Annual dues are payable on or before the first day of January of each year. If you have not already done so, Please mail your dues ($15 for individual or $20 for family) to PNWHC - Wendy Waggoner, 20804 NE 40th Ave., Ridgefield, WA 98642. 

As a convenience to our members you can now pay your dues via PayPal. All you need to do is go to your PayPal account and make the payment by using the email address of the club - PNWHC99@gmail.com. The club is passing the PayPal fee on to members so if you are paying by this method, individual dues are $16 and Household are $21. But hey, its cheaper and easier than writing a check, finding a stamp, and burning gas to the post office, not to mention remembering to do it. Hope this helps everyone to get their dues paid in a timely fashion.
