At the Board Meeting on April 20, six new members were approved. Since we don't get together as a club, other than around trials, we will be "introducing" new members on this website over the next month.
Kate says she hasn’t done a lot of herding but hopes that joining Pacific Northwest Herding Club will motivate her to get more involved with herding activities! Her collie Dandy did get his PT title at the Collie Club of America Western Regional herding trial at Brigand's in 2009, handled by Nancy Ward (see photo at left). She has two 5 month-old collie puppies that she's going to take to Brigand's soon to see how they do. She has a small flock of sheep and her goal is to get the dogs trained enough that they can help with the sheep, especially as she and her family hope to eventually move to larger acreage. Kate has also done some obedience work with her collies and other dogs she's had in the past. Kate hopes to start doing more of that as well as her kids are getting older (four boys, youngest is starting first grade next year).
