Congratulations to Friday and Sunday’s High-in-Trial, Belgian Malinois, "Dierks" and Teresa Marquardt, from Started A Course Sheep!  “Dierks” earned his first two legs towards his HSAs title in style (he was not entered on Saturday).

Congratulations are also due to Border Collie “Navarre”, Carol Wolfram, Handler and Heather Christenson, Owner for their Reserve High-in-Trial win on Friday. Pending AKC approval, Navarre completed his Herding Championship on Friday.  Team “Navarre” went on to take High-in-Trial on Saturday, and High Combined (for the weekend) which was awarded on Sunday.  Whoot Whoot Team “Navarre”!

Belgian Tervuren ”Mya”, Melinda Galt, Handler, and Pegi Woolworth, Owner, deserve our praise for their Reserve High-in-Trial win on Saturday, from Started A Course Sheep!

 

And last but not least, kudos to Sunday's Reserve High-in-Trial, Briard “Leica” and Carol Wolfram from Advance C Course sheep.  “Leica” picked up a first place and a 4-point major towards a herding championship with her RHIT!

Huge thanks to our judges (Deborah Pollard and Rochelle Stanford-Dias), our Trial Committee and all our volunteers (Sue Nolen, Donna Berotti, Charlotte Dietsch, Theresa Marquardt, Jen Rice, Elizabeth Schaab, Jill Wolfard, and Barbara Lierson) for making everything run smoothly!  As always, special thanks are due to Barbara Davenport and Steve Weigley for maintaining such a great facility for us all.

PNWHC October 7-9 AKC Herding Trial at PackLeader Farm: Judging Program Available

The Judging Program is available for the PNWHC AKC Herding Trial at PackLeader Farm in Gig Harbor WA.  Spectators are welcome at this event.  The Judging Program with class schedule/run order can be downloaded from this link.

PRACTICE

If you plan to practice on Thursday, please let Barb know k9sayno@aol.com so that she can have the right sheep/ducks available.  All practice will be shutdown at 4PM to allow for adequate rest for the stock before the trial the next day.

 

CHECK IN/HANDLERS' MEETINGS

Check-in will be available at the Secretary’s Building starting at 8:30AM on Friday, and 8:00AM Saturday and Sunday.  A General Handlers’ Meeting will be held in front of the Secretary's Building at 8:45AM on Friday, and 8:15AM on Saturday and Sunday.  The C Course Handlers’ Meeting will be held at 9:00AM on Friday, and 8:30AM on Saturday and Sunday near the entrance gate to the C Course field with the first dog on the field immediately following.  Additional Handlers' Meetings will be held by course near the entrance to the arena for that course.  Handlers' Meetings may be broken down by class at the judges' discretion.

 

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

Due to ongoing COVID concerns, no food or beverages will be available except for judges and workers.  Competitors and spectators must bring their own food and beverages.

PNWHC AKC Herding Trial Opens Friday August 26!

It is time to enter the PNWHC Herding Trial. Three days of AKC Herding Tests and Trials at PackLeader Farm in Gig Harbor WA, October 7-9, 2022.  A and B Courses on Sheep and Ducks.  C course, Herding Test and Pre-trial Test on Sheep.  Deborah Pollard will judge all Tests and Trial Courses on Friday and Saturday.  Rochelle Stanford-Dias will judge all Tests and Trial Courses on Sunday.  C-Course runs are limited to 6-8, depending on level, Test runs are limited to 18, all other courses/stock are limited to 40. Entries close Friday, September 23, 2022.  DOWNLOAD THE PNWHC PREMIUM LIST or contact Gabrielle LaRoche, Trial Secretary for more information.
