Proposals for Fall Trial Sought

The Pacific Northwest Herding Club is soliciting proposals for a fall 2012 trial.  The deadline for proposals is Tuesday June 19 via email to the secretary at seabries@olypen.com. Proposals should specify trial committee, chair, facility, and dates, and may include suggested secretary (not confirmed) and suggested judges (not confirmed).

Sheep Shearing Demonstration Rescheduled

Have you ever wondered how to shear a 200 lb. sheep without hurting your back? 
If so, this event is for you!

Local expert Bridgette Tuerler will demonstrate how to shear a sheep on a stand.  In addition to the above, topics covered include care of animal, shearing technique, care of clippers (before, during and after shearing), what to do with the wool.

2012-2013 PNWHC Nominations

The Nominating Committee has met and proposes the following slate for the 2012-2013 year.   Carol Wolfram, President Maddy Turner, Vice President Gabrielle LaRoche, Secretary Bridgette Tuerler, Treasurer Claudia Dickerson, Member Nancy Macklin, Member   Relevant sections of the PNWHC bylaws for the annual meeting and elections below.   ARTICLE IV -- THE CLUB YEAR, ANNUAL MEETING, ELECTIONS   Section 1. Club Year The club’s fiscal year shall begin on the first day of July and end on the last day of June. The club’s official year shall begin immediately at the conclusion of the election at the annual meeting and shall continue through the election at the next annual meeting.   Section 2. Annual Meeting The annual meeting shall be held in the month of June, at which time officers and directors for the ensuing year shall be elected by secret ballot from among those nominated in accordance with Section 4 of this Article. They shall take office on July 1st. Each retiring officer shall turn over to the successor in office all properties and records relating to that office prior to July 1st.   Section 3. Elections The nominated candidate receiving the greatest number of votes for each office shall be declared elected. The nominated candidates for other positions on the Board who receive the greatest number of votes for such positions shall be declared elected.   Section 4. Nominations No person may be a candidate in a club election who has not been nominated. Additional nominations may be made at the June meeting by any member in attendance, provided that the person so nominated does not decline when their name is proposed.
